1. T HOMAS NATHANIEL2 FRASIER (LEVI CHARLES1) was born Aug 1859 in Marshall Co, AL, and died Jun 1888 in Marshall Co., AL. He married MARY MAGDELINE SLATON Oct 22, 1885 in Marshall Co., AL, daughter of HENRY SLATON and SARAH CRANFORD. She was born Jun 19, 1869 in Marshall Co., AL, and died Mar 31, 1958 in Marshall Co., AL.Notes for T HOMAS NATHANIEL FRASIER:Thomas Nathaniel Frasier was born in 1859 in Marshall Co, AL. He is listed as Thomas N., age 4 mos. on the 1860 census. He is listed as Nathaniel, age 11 on the 1870 census and Nathaniel age 20 on the 1880 census. The marriage license for Thomas Nathaniel Frasier and Mary Magdelene Slaton lists him as Charles N. Frasier. Mollie Slaton Frasier Stone called him Nate. She said his name was Thomas Nathaniel and she named his son Thomas Nathaniel. I believe that the original license was hard to read and when it was re-written for distribution it was misread. Mollie Stone also said he was of Scottish descent. She met him when he returned home after visiting family in Texas. She was present at a party where he played the fiddle and she mentioned his 'dashing figure and flashing eyes'. They ran away to get married but her father and brothers caught them and brought them back. Her father whipped her with his belt for running away. Then he agreed that they could marry even though she was only 16 years old. Thomas Nathaniel died of typhoid in 1888. He is buried at Shoal Creek Cemetery in Marshall County, Alabama. In 1880 she is in De Kalb Co, AL with her parents. Mollie was married in 1885 to Thomas Nathaniel Frasier. Her marriage license lists him as Charles N. Frasier. I believe this is a mistake. She named her first son Thomas Nathaniel. She married (second) Asa Tillman Stone in 1894. On the 1930 census she is living with her youngest son, W. Henry Stone. She was born Nov 24, 1892 in Franklin Co, AL, and died Nov 27, 1980 in DeKalb Co., AL.Notes for T HOMAS NATHANIEL FRASIER:Thomas Nathaniel Frasier was born to Thomas Nathaniel and Mary Magdeline (Slaton) Frasier on November 4, 1887, in Albertville, Marshall County, Alabama. Although his father's death is listed as 1888, his mother said he was born a few months after his fathers death from typhoid. T.N. had only one eye. When he was 12 years old he put fire crackers in a hollow log and closed it up. He lit the fuse which was not quite long enough and the log exploded and a piece hit his eye and destroyed it. He was in general good health until the last couple of years when dementia crept in. He loved fox hunting although his daughter in law, Louise Weir Frasier said he didn't really hunt. He only went out into the woods to get away from Mollie for awhile. He married Mollie Belle Veal in 1909 in Franklin County, Alabama. He lived on land left to him by his father until his stepfather bought it and he bought a farm in DeKalb County, Alabama (Rainsville) in 1936. Veal and Mary Agnes Camp. Her daughter Ida Belle (Frasier) Dean said she was born in Franklin County, Alabama and that she was also married there. The 1910 Census, 1920 Census and 1930 Census for Marshall county (Thompsons District) shows her living with her husband and children. During 1936 she and her husband bought a farm in DeKalb County Alabama and moved there. They lived there and worked the farm until their deaths. Molly Belle Veal Frasier died November 27, 1980 and is buried in the church cemetery about 2 miles from their home. Molly was in general good health most of her life. Her last couple of years she suffered from dementia. She died in a fall down the steps from the kitchen to outside. He attended school through 8th grade and then helped on the farm until age 17 when he enlisted in the USNavy. After discharge from the Navy in 1931, Hoyt N. Frasier went to Lincoln Co, TN to stay with his grandfather, Richard Veal and help him on the farm. There he met Louise Weir and they married in November 1932. He wrote a letter to his Grandma, Molly (Slaton, Frasier) Stone. This letter was found in Molly Stone's abandoned house in 1994. It states, "Flintville, Tenn Rt. 1 May 16. Well I think I'll write you all a few lines. I meant to write sooner but I didn't have time or money either. Well I don't know how I'm getting along alright I reckon. I don't particular care. Well I don't reckon anything has happened so I can't tell you nothing only I seen four byplanes this morn but they don't mean nothing to us so I reckon I'll quit (over). Lincoln, I sure wish you were up here I know you'd have some fun. Grandma's got a cafe but old ____ is nearly as big as ______. Well me and grandpa is got some good corn and cotton and we are plowing this week. When cotton opens good you've got to come up here and help us pick. And you know what I said me and you'd do or buy well I'll quit. H. N. Frasier" Hoyt and Louise lived with his parents in Marshall Co, TN for a few months and then moved back to Lincoln Co, TN where their first three children were born. During the winter of 1936 they moved back to his parents home in Alabama. By then his parents had bought a farm in DeKalb county. Hoyt and Louise lived with them until they had built a cabin on the farm. Their next two children were born in the cabin. In 1943 with the beginning of WWII Hoyt re-enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at Pensacola, Florida. He moved the family down later that year and the next child was born in the hospital at Pensacola Naval Air Station. They lived in Pensacola for one year and then moved to Milton and then to Bagdad. Patricia was born in Milton. With the end of the war in August, 1945 Hoyt was discharged and the family moved back to Rainsville, Alabama (DeKalb Co). Margaret Elizabeth was born in DeKalb County on Sand Mountain . The family bought a farm at Mentone, Alabama on Lookout Mountain and moved there in 1949. They still didn't have any luck farming and Hoyt still worked away from home. In 1952 they moved to Augusta, Georgia and lived there for one year before moving back to Lookout Mountain. Mary Evelyn was born in Augusta and Martha Frances was born in Ft. Payne Alabama. During the late fifties they moved to Atlanta, Georgia. They moved to Grants, NM; Albuquerque, NM; Roswell, NM; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Beaumont, Texas. During most of this time Hoyt worked away from home. In 1968 he was working in Farmington, NM while the family still lived in Beaumont. On March 26 on his way home to move them up to Farmington he was killed instantly in a collision with a three level cattle truck. The body of Hoyt Nathaniel Frasier was shipped to Lincoln County Tennessee and he is buried in the Flintville Cemetery.
