1. JESSE S.² PRESCOTT (JOHN¹) was born 1800 in Barnwell Dist, SC. He married (1) SARAH CARTER Abt. 1820. He married (2) TRINITY Abt. 1827. She was born 1807 in GA.

Sources say that Jesse Prescott's father was John Prescott (r.w.s.) from Barnwell Dist. SC. Most sources do not give name of mother but one source gives Jesse's mother's name as Trinity. Most sources say Jesse married Sarah Carter.

On the 1850 census for Alachua Co, FL Jesse is married to Trinity. Children listed on the 1850 census are: Robert 21, Trinity 19, John 18, Ely 16, Nelson 13, Thomas 11, and Rebecca 7.

It is gererally understood that Jesse had two older sons, Moses b. 1821 and Samuel E. b. 1824.

There are 5 years between Samuel and Robert. So could Sarah Carter be the mother of Moses and Samuel? Then between 1824 and 1829 she died and he married Trinity?

1800 - Barnwell Dist, SC - HH of John Prescott. This is the best bet for 1800 for Jesse although could not find this John in 1810 or 1820. Early census records for Georgia are missing.

 Jesse and Trinity Prescott sold 80 acres for $1600 in Hamilton Co, FL Feb 17, 1842 -
 Jesse bought 80 acres land in Bradford Co, FL May 1,1855. He lived in Alachua Co, FL.
Jesse bought 40.02 acres land in Bradford Co, FL, 1855. He lived in Columbia Co, FL.
In 1859 he sold the land to Benjamin Kite  and said he lived in Orange county at the time. Three of his sons are in Brevard District - Orlando, Orange Co, FL in the 1860 census.  But we have found no trace of Jesse after the sale of land in 1859.

Have not found parents, death, or marriage dates for Sarah. She may have died between 1824 - 1829.

Notes for TRINITY:

1850 Census Trinity is living with Jesse Prescott and children. It's still unclear if she is the mother of all the children. It is believed that Jesse first married Sarah Carter and later married Trinity. In 1850 Trinity is 51 years old so born in 1799. On 1830 and 1840 census records Jesse's wife was born between 1800/1810. It seems Trinity is the right age to be the wife in 1830 & 1840.  Another question that pops up is "Did Trinity bring children to the marriage or are all the children Jesse's?"

2. SAMUEL EVERETT³ PRESCOTT (JESSE S.², JOHN¹) was born Feb 16, 1824, and died 1897 in De Sota Co, Fl. Sebring, FL. He married LUCY PETERSON 1850, daughter of JAMES PETERSON and RACHEL RICKETSON. She was born Mar 1829, and died Aft. 1900 in Sebring, Highlands Co, Fl.

Notes for SAMUEL EVERETT PRESCOTT:

At only 13 years of age in 1837 Samuel Prescott served in Capt. Samuel Swilley's Company, 2nd Florida Militia. In 1839-1840 he served as corporal in Capt. David R. Bryan's Company, Georgia Militia, during the Indian Wars.

On March 10, 1861 Samuel enlisted as a private in Company C, 7th Florida Infantry Regiment C. S. A. He was in the battles of Chicamaugua and Missionary Ridge, and the battle of Atlanta. His regiment was with General Robert E. Lee's army at the surrender at Appomattox in 1865.

In 1870 and 1880 Sebring was in Manatee County. In 1890, 1900, 1910, and 1920 Sebring was in DeSota County. By 1930 Sebring was in Highlands county.

Elvira married George Grant Budd Feb. 27, 1890 in DeSota County Florida. They remained in Sebring and raised their 6 children there. After her husband died in 1948 she lived with her children until she died in 1958.

Notes for GEORGE GRANT BUDD:

George Budd was born in White Plains, NY (Westchester County). A birth record has not been found but the information comes from his death certificate as well as a statement from his daughter, Mabel.

The family lived in Indiana and Wisconsin and then moved to Florida before 1890 when George married Elvira Prescott in De Sota Co, Florida. He is listed on the 1910 and 1920 census record for De Sota Co, Florida. He is listed on the 1930 census for Highlands Co, Fl - Sebring.

The death certificate says his occupation was mechanic.

In 1870 Everett age 11 is living with William Allman age 22 and wife Mary Jane age 18. Could not find D. Elizabeth and Lousianna in 1870.
